Consumers wanting exceptionally clear, crisp video calling and high definition capabilities may be happy to know that VoiceServe, a software platform provider that delivers next-generation services to Internet Telephony (News - Alert) Providers (ITSPs), has released an advanced version of its "Vippie Mobile" by VoipSwitch.

In addition to offering improved voice quality and HD capabilities, the newest release supports the latest platforms, including iPad 2 and Android (News - Alert) tablets such as the Motorola Xoom. With Voiceserve's latest mobile dialer software, video calls can be made and viewed in high definition via any HD quality webcam, including smartphones.
Voiceserve's VoipSwitch video "softphones" are built on open standards, utilizing SIP protocols and highly efficient video codecs that are widely supported on most mobile devices, according to company officials. This feature enables the phones to support connection to third-party video hardware or software solutions.
Company officials have already tested the latest Vippie Dialer software with videophones by a number of industry leaders and, as of this month, the software already being offered directly by several international carriers.
In other industry news, voice management leader Tone Software (News - Alert) has made its DYNA-STEP(TM) Dynamic STEPLIB and ISPF Library Management Solution 3.0 Release, a release that features new ISPF application to control allocations and concatenations, immediately available.
The release also boasts the ability to simultaneously run multiple versions of identically named load modules in separate screens of an ISPF session, thus expediting the testing and roll out of upgrades and new z/OS applications, according to company officials.
"The DYNA-STEP 3.0 capabilities represent a key technology breakthrough that increases the effectiveness and efficiency of z/OS and TSO management methodologies," said Shirley Balarezo (News - Alert), president of Tone Software, in a statement. "The innovative reentrant load module support combined with new ISPF displays to easily manipulate allocations and concatenations on-the-fly dramatically expedite host environment changes, testing and upgrade processes.”
