CTI Group (Holdings) Inc., a developer of telecommunications solutions for fixed, mobile and converged communications, has released Proteus (News - Alert) 7 SP1, an upgrade to its fully scalable hosted or premised-based call accounting solution for mobile, VoIP and PBX telephony systems.
Officials with CTI Group said that Proteus 7 now includes the full support for extension mobility, in addition to audio, audio conference, video, video conferencing, mobile and IM.
According to company officials, Proteus 7 has the ability to partition a single physical switch into multiple logical devices. It also features auto-learning extensions across switches, enhanced logging of hunt groups to offer individual station or agent data, and the ability to restrict logging of groups of extensions via exclude lists.
"We needed a system capable of collecting call data from multiple switches in different countries and costing calls using multiple carriers and currencies. Proteus Enterprise was the only tool on the market that allowed us to do this and to deliver accurate information and reports from across the organization," said Todd Justad, Telecom Operations Architect for Network Operations at Citrix Systems (News - Alert), in a statement.
Company officials said that Proteus, via a configurable dashboard, will log hybrid environments, where digital PBXs reside alongside IP PBXs.
This, company officials said, helps companies analyse costs and usage of their voice systems as they migrate from digital PBX (News - Alert) to IP PBX; for example, a reduction in inter-site calls, reduction in international call charges, reduction in mobile costs through use of softphone or VoIP from handset.
TMCnet in December reported that CTI Group (News - Alert) (Holdings) Inc. launched Proteus Mobile, a call accounting tool engineered to monitor and report on SMS, MMS, data usage and standard voice traffic on any mobile handset or 3G device.
Officials with CTI Group said that the Proteus Mobile centralizes and consolidates all mobile and fixed-line communications on a single platform while offering the same advanced functionality and features that are found across CTI's entire suite of Proteus call accounting solutions, including-instant data reports; allocates usage and costs to individual departments and cost centers; individual cost breakdown; international roaming analysis; fraud prevention and carrier comparison and call tagging.
