Empirix Inc., provider of service quality assurance solutions for new IP communications, has signed an expanded agreement with Avaya, a major player in business communications software, systems and services, designed to drive higher levels of performance and quality in business communications.
Officials with Empirix (News - Alert) said that with the agreement, the company’s validation technology will support quality assurance for Avaya's unified communications and contact center offerings.
Empirix has been a primary solution validation component of Avaya (News - Alert) Professional Services.
Company officials said that this brings together the broad communications expertise and collaboration solutions of Avaya Professional Services with Empirix's patented and quality assurance capabilities for testing services.
Quality assurance is a critical element for driving satisfaction, both for businesses and the customers they serve. It enables businesses to test their solutions before putting them into production, and helps businesses deliver a higher-quality experience for enterprise customers.
"The communications market is rapidly transforming into an application-oriented environment," said Greg Billings, vice president of Avaya Professional Services, in a statement.
Billings said that as Avaya helps lead this transformation with a range of collaboration tools and services, the company believes it is important to ensure that quality-driven testing occurs after application integration, but before solutions enter production.
He said that comprehensive Empirix tools will help Avaya and its channel partners validate the quality of Unified Communications (News - Alert) and contact center deployments.
According to company officials, as part of this agreement, Empirix will provide Avaya with an on-demand service validation solution accessible to Avaya and authorized channel partners through a secure, self-service Web portal.
Using this solution, Avaya and authorized channel partners will have, for the first time, a uniform, easy-to-use tool set for scheduling, executing and viewing validation results for new and existing Avaya real-time communications implementations.
"We are proud of the opportunity to expand our relationship with Avaya and help the company not only shorten the deployment cycle for its customers, but also deliver confidence and peace-of-mind after deployment," said John D'Anna, CEO of Empirix.
D'Anna said that as Unified Communications continue to expand, network testing and monitoring will become increasingly important so companies can directly ensure that their new technology investments translate into a real ROI.
