Vonexus Inc., subsidiary of Interactive Intelligence Inc. announced that it signed an agreement enabling it to package its Microsoft-based IP PBX software with Quintum Technologies' SIP Tenor VoIP MultiPath switches.
Vonexus says its IP PBX, called Enterprise Interaction Center (EIC), was designed exclusively for Microsoft small to medium-sized business customers. EIC applications include SIP-based switching, auto-attendant, presence management, call routing and queuing, and Exchange-based unified messaging. Out-of-the-box screen-pop and IVR integration will be available in the second quarter for Microsoft Great Plains and MS CRM.
The Tenor MultiPath SwitchQuintum's SIP product, allows users to transfer calls between the public switched telephone network and IP-based local or wide area networks. It offers EIC customers better reliability and improved quality of service with patented technology that provides real-time backup integrated into the switch.
"We reviewed gateways from other vendors, but they required that a complete QoS IP network be implemented at every router, so any portion of our customers' network that wasn't supporting QoS would be vulnerable to outages," said Vonexus president, Jerry Fleming.
"In addition to this critical differentiator affecting reliability, the Quintum switch also offered our customers a unique MultiPath design that gives EIC intelligent connectivity to both analog devices and the PSTN, he added.
The Quintum Tenor provides connectivity between analog, PSTN and IP devices. Other capabilities include call routing, a PacketSaver feature for optimum bandwidth utilization, and NATAccess, which enables it to be deployed behind the corporate firewall for better security.
"EIC's standards-based, all-software IP PBX, combined with our SIP gateway, gives Microsoft SMB customers all the benefits of VoIP - from cost-savings to increased functionality - while addressing primary concerns about its reliability, quality of service, ease of installation, and security," said Charles Rutledge, vice president of marketing for Eatontown, NJ-based Quintum.
EIC is offered as a complete, out-of-the box IP telephony solution running on pre-integrated Intel or HP servers. It comes packaged with Intel's HMP software, the Quintum SIP switch, a SIP proxy server, and IP phones, including the award-winning Polycom SoundPoint IP family of phones.
The new solution will be available for purchase through the Vonexus channel, composed of IP telephony value-added resellers throughout the world, as well as Vonexus master distributors, which include Alliance Systems and CommLogik Corp.
