Networks today are seeing more and more demand as companies and individuals turn to less expensive Voice over Internet Protocol services and next-generation networks and IP multimedia subsystems mature, experts say.

Operators have seen problems arise after network deployments because of large-scale subscriber traffic, they say. The phenomenon begs these questions: How can operators more appropriately model their networks in a lab, or identify and monitor relevant quality metrics?

To address the problem, a panel of experts is holding a free Webinar next week.

Register here for “Ensuring Quality in Large Scale Networks,” to be held at 11 a.m. Eastern on Thursday, July 10. The Webinar will include a question-and-answer session and is co-sponsored by Empirix (News - Alert), a Bedford, Massachusetts-based company that provides voice application testing and monitoring solutions.

The event will cover: NGN/IMS problems that come with large-scale load, such as outages, overloads and attacks; problems with implementing and testing security in such networks; simulating large-scale VoIP network issues in a lab; and methodologies for monitoring large-scale VoIP networks.

Presenters include Empirix Product Marketing Managers Chad Hart (News - Alert) and Dan Teichman, and the Webinar will be hosted by TMCnet Group Managing Editor Erik Linask, a seasoned IP communications insider who writes a column that can be read at www.tmcnet.com.
