Calling cards are basically used for international calls, although they are available for domestic call purposes too. These cards allow you to make cheaper international calls. Today market is flooded with several types of calling cards from numerous companies for variable rates and there is stiff competition among the providers.
To join the foray, South Florida-based China Voice Holding (News - Alert) Corporation or "CHVC" announced the launch of a new calling card service distributed through its wholly owned subsidiary, Wize Prepaid, targeting the various ethnic groups located within the United States who are looking for a cost-effective way to call family and friends in their country of origin.
The service, 'Wize Family and Friends' is sold through the Company's current Wize Prepaid master distributors.
Wize Family and Friends is a new way to unite people across the world, and it could revolutionize the calling card industry, company officials said. The service is backed by carrier-class switching systems and a proven and solid IP Network infrastructure, they added.
Wize Family and Friends allows a caller to dial out to the country of his choice, provide the called party with a PIN and a local access number and connect them for hours of talk time.
Since both callers use a local number, no additional long distance fees are incurred. Each call enables up to 8 hours of talk time for $1.00 per call.
"Wize Family and Friends is a service that we expect to have a huge effect in the Calling Card industry. The flexibility of the service, as well as the value delivered, is unprecedented," Bill Burbank (News - Alert), CHVC's CEO, said,
The initial product offering is based on $2, $5 and $8 denominations. For example, the $5 card provides 5 calls, each up to 5 hours in length, and so on.
Initially the company is offering country specific cards to connect with Guatemala, Mexico and El Salvador. They plan to add additional countries in the future. With this, the service will offer them ability to call to and from countries other than the U.S.
