E-MetroTel is improving customer service and reducing communication costs for Shanghai Symphony Telecommunications (SST).

The company is using E-MetroTel’s UCX450 solution for its Shanghai Times Square office to better support its growing list of more than 500 customers.

SST is China's first Sino-Foreign telecom service, and wants to address challenges that are presented while delivering high-quality comprehensive VoIP communications services to its Chinese and multinational customers.


Its requirements are addressed by the E-MetroTel UCX communications solution that offers the flexibility and choice of deployment options.

“Customers are looking for communication solutions that can adapt and evolve to meet their specific needs as their business changes,” said Ardavan Nawaby, president and CEO at E-MetroTel. “The E-MetroTel UCX VoIP portfolio bridges traditional PBX (News - Alert) with new SIP-based Unified Communication technology using a single, flexible, cost-effective platform.”

The E-MetroTel UCX communications system provides a smooth transition from SST’s aging Nortel (News - Alert) CS 1000 system while retaining as much of the existing digital and IP phones as possible.

SST was able to get its office up and running very quickly with the E-MetroTel UCX450 system that delivers all of the latest Unified Communication features businesses want to improve customer service.

In addition to features such as follow-me mobility and unified messaging, the UCX450 includes built-in support for Nortel Heritage IP & digital phones.

E-MetroTel and its partners are engaged in evolving existing customer IT networks and enabling new UC applications, solutions and services.

“We are very pleased with the rapid customer adoption of UCX Release 4.0,” added Nawaby.

Innovations in Unified Communications are lauded by the industry. Recently, IntelePeer, a provider of on-demand, cloud-based communications, announced that its CoreCloud Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) had been named as the 2014 Unified Communications Product of the Year by TMC.
