Epik Networks: Mobile VoIP Service Providers - Get Set to Roll in 2014

Epik Networks (News - Alert), a Toronto-based VoIP provider of phone and Internet services, has predicted that the New Year will see mobile VoIP service providers very busy; the reason being that mobile VoIP is fast gaining ground and becoming the mainstay of many organizations.

Businesses across North America want out from rising cell phone bills, high roaming charges and overage minutes - something that has plagued them throughout the past year. They want to start off on a new footing that will offer relief.

The everyday smartphone is being increasingly viewed as a portable extension of the office network with simple VoIP applications, and as these devices wedge themselves more firmly in the corporate sector, mobile VoIP is already being viewed as the manna from the Internet.

Initially mobile VoIP providers were reluctant to offer VoIP services on their devices as they were afraid that the free services would eat into their revenue. However, that has all changed, and Epik Networks notes that it is a golden opportunity for service providers to bundle services together, creating a seamless, single solution for both the office landline and corporate provided cell phones.

If that happens, then organizations would be better positioned to reduce costs by drastically reducing cellular charges and international call charges because VoIP international call rates are definitely cheaper than normal cell phone calls. With mobile VoiP, users can access and manage voice mail accounts through wireless Internet, forward calls, reject calls that they don't want and even install softphone support software on their mobile phones, allowing them to use VoIP wherever they go.

Mobile VoIP would also put an end to the need for multiple line and interoffice long distance charges. This would indeed be a boon for small and medium sized enterprises, who would get a cheaper and more viable alternative for enhanced capabilities that only large enterprises enjoy.

“The benefits and advantages of VOIP are now well known and widespread with early adopters giving way to mainstream businesses. Like the traditional phone before it, VOIP has become the nervous system of the business world, “said Claudio Nespeca, vice president, operations and marketing at Epik.

According to Epik, as mobile apps, faster networks and Wi-Fi hotspots proliferate, mobile VoiP is set to roll out a banner 2014, and the emergence of mobile service VoIP providers on the communication landscape is inevitable.

Can businesses then look forward to a year that puts more money into their coffers? If mobile VoIP fulfills all its promises, then perhaps the answer is yes.
