VoIP Switch - Telinta, Aastra Partner to Develop Auto-Provisioning Profiles for Aastra's 6700 Series SIP Phones

Telinta, a provider of VoIP switches and billing solutions for internet telephony service providers (ITSPs), has announced a partnership with Aastra (News - Alert) Technologies, a provider of enterprise communications solutions, to automate large deployments of session initiation protocol (SIP) phones.

Based in Ontario, Canada, Aastra develops and delivers innovative and integrated solutions designed to address the communication needs of businesses small and large around the world. The company offers a complete range of open standard IP-based and traditional communications solutions, including terminals, systems, and applications.

Telinta, in partnership with Aastra, has developed auto-provisioning profiles for Aastra’s 6700 series of SIP phones. The auto-provisioning profiles enable ITSPs to quickly automate large deployments of Aastra SIP phones via Telinta’s cloud-based softswitch platform.

The auto-provisioning profiles for Aastra IP phones are now a standard part of Telinta’s TeliCore switching, billing and customer management platform. The TeliCore switching platform incorporates Telinta's VolP solutions with the switching and billing capabilities from PortaSwitch.

“ITSPs need automated hosted solutions for deploying SIP phones in order to succeed in the highly competitive markets for hosted IP PBX (News - Alert), call centers and other business telephony services,” said Victor Roldán, Aastra’s Latin America regional president, in a statement. “Telinta’s carrier-grade platform, together with high-quality Aastra phones, offers ITSP customers a true competitive edge.”

The solution enables ITSPs to incorporate phone provisioning and feature activation into other key processes such as billing and customer management, easily managing their business via Telinta’s Web-based interface.

Telinta’s automated provisioning solution, according to company officials, can cut deployment time and costs, while improving customer satisfaction. ITSPs can easily create the inventory of Aastra phones using Telinta’s carrier-grade VoIP switching platform.

The partnership aims to reduce the efforts of IP phone provisioning significantly. When Aastra’s SIP phones are connected to an IP network, they will automatically connect to Telinta’s provisioning servers to instantly download a complete configuration.  

The automated solution can make large, multi-location deployments fast, easy and accurate, anywhere in the world. Aastra models, which are specially optimized for Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync, can also be deployed with Telinta’s automated solution.
