Sippy Software Brings Sippy Softswitch 4.0 to Production Release
October 08, 2013

VoIP switch provider Sippy Software has been pretty busy so far this year. Back in April, for example, the company revamped its website in an effort to make it more user friendly. In March, it introduced a complete pre-paid card solution made up of its pre-paid calling card module and the Sippy Softswitch. Now, Sippy Software is making perhaps its biggest move of the year with the graduation of Sippy Version 4.0 from customer Beta to full production release.
Coming straight from Sippy Labs, the company’s wholly owned development center, Sippy 4.0 is the next step in the evolution of the Sippy Softswitch, taking the comprehensive, fully integrated, high-performance, scalable SIP platform to a whole new level. Indeed, Sippy 4.0 represents the most significant release yet for the platform, boasting over 2,500 individual improvements across the entire Sippy Operating Architecture.
These individual improvements together equal significant redevelopment of the Sippy Operating Architecture, with a focus on improved performance. Indeed, dramatic new call processing algorithms, tighter integration with the OS kernel and a range of customer-driven performance changes are included in this release, allowing Sippy 4.0 to help clients drive even greater margins.
Some key performance improvements include improved call processing time and media relay optimization, improved system restart times, and XML-RPC performance improvements. Together these enhancements represent a fundamentally faster release.
In terms of functionality, Sippy 4.0 offers the ability to expand the nested routing and call rating solutions for local number routing, improved billing and invoice options, increased security, RFC compliance, IP firewall, conference calling, and expanded system monitoring tools. If that wasn’t enough, Sippy 4.0 also offers increased carrier return on investment (ROI) without increasing costs, allowing it to provide even greater economic value than previous iterations.
As it nears its completion, it’s clear that Sippy 4.0 continues to further Sippy Software’s goal of delivering the most reliable and feature-rich systems possible to carriers and VoIP providers worldwide.
