VoIP Switch - Mikogo Releases New Version of its Online Meeting Software

July 17, 2013

Cloud communication service Mikogo has announced the second release of its online meeting software with the beta VOIP feature for voice conferencing, available on both Windows and Mac.

The addition of VOIP to both its Windows and Mac versions has enabled the company to develop a Web conferencing solution, featuring desktop sharing and voice conferencing as well as online meeting features. Moreover, the new release offers advanced audio settings for a much better experience of voice conferences over the Web.

With its advanced audio settings, users can adjust their microphone sensitivity and also enable noise reduction and echo cancellation options, which ensure that background noises are not interfering with the user’s voice conference.

“Although releasing VOIP for our Windows version was a great initial step, it was crucial to expand and provide this as a cross-platform feature and meet the demand from our Mac customers,” said Matthias Litz, product development manager at Mikogo.

The new built-in advanced settings ensure optimal call quality for each user by placing the control directly in the hands of the users, Litz explained.

Thanks to this newest offering, users can initiate an online meeting on either a Windows or Mac computer. Plus, the voice conferencing component can be added to the meeting when required, company officials said.

Participants can also join the meeting from either Windows or Mac machines. The new offering allows attendees to connect to a desktop sharing meeting and speak to each other via a built-in VOIP feature, eliminating the need for additional software.

Additionally, the speakers and microphones available at the users’ end are automatically detected, enabling them to quickly switch between different devices.

Earlier this year, Mikogo unveiled the first- ever HTML5 Cloud Desktop, a solution capable of hosting an entire computer system in the cloud.
