Gone are the days of conventional voice switches. With VoIP softswitches, voice, fax and video data can be efficiently transmitted and routed, greatly contributing to the recent telecommunication revolution. Choosing the right softswitch is necessary to maintain high quality of communication and billing services. The market is full players, and one such option is IXC.

IXC is a Ukrainian developer of routing and billing solutions for all types of VoIP business. The company’s softswitch and billing solution serves as a reliable platform for rendering VoIP services.

In an effort to make its softswitch solution more user-friendly and flexible, the company recently made several improvements to version 5.4.1 of IXC Softswitch.

IXC Softwitch is a high performance, scalable Class 4 VoIP switch solution with a user friendly GUI web interface, enabling secure VoIP traffic to flow over various IP networks. While interconnecting multiple VoIP networks, IXC Softswitch ensures that the client and operator network topology remains hidden. It supports interworking and transparent translation of SIP and H.323 protocols with further normalization, as well as all types of media codecs.

“We’ve collected feedback from our customers and implemented a lot of necessary enhancements related to the web interface and core subsystem,” stated a company official, in a statement.

Key improvements to the new version include a new SIP-subsystem, which can parse SIP messages more quickly, meaning its softswitch will be faster at the core level. Also, the latest VoIP switch comes with web optimization and fixing. This is in addition to new menus, comment fields for financial departments, multiple selections when you want to delete several items, and reporting enhacements.

Also, a new integrated FAS Detection utility will help increase quality of service by indentifying providers who mix traffic with FAS. The main feature of FAS Detection is the IXC Autotester tool. This utility enables testing destinations in automated mode to be scheduled at any time. Once testing is complete, users will receive a call test report directly to a specified e-mail address. The module supports now up to 100 calls.

IXC also helps users create Platinum, Gold, Premium or Standard price tiers. Service providers simply need to select the appropriate terminators and they will see the price for their customer originators.

With the price generator, default routing rules, balanced reporting and active call monitoring, the latest version of IXC Softswitch hopes to be extremely efficient, fast and user friendly at the same time.

IXC also offers IXC Softswitch Light which is a light variant of the company’s softswitch developed to cater to the requirements of wholesales companies. It is based on OSX applications and is said to be stable and simple.
