snom technology AG (News - Alert), a developer of IP desktop business phones, will now be marketing and selling HP’s Lync-optimized desktop IP phones.

From June, snom, an HP channel partner, will market and promote the HP 4110 and HP 4120 IP phones through its global network of distributors and resellers.  As part of the pact, HP will provide tier 1 support for the 4110 and 4120 IP phones, while snom and its partners will be responsible for go-to-market activities, including sales and marketing of the phones.

“As the market for Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync expands, businesses require the flexibility to deploy solutions that fit their specific needs, whether that’s Lync-optimized devices or Lync-qualified devices,” said Michael Knieling (News - Alert), chief operating officer of snom technology AG in Berlin, in a statement.

“We can offer more choices to our customers, whatever their needs may be,” added Knieling.

Thanks to the partnership with HP, snom will be able to deliver to its customers a variety of new enterprise capabilities, including PC/phone integration, click-to-call and integrated Lync server manageability.

Officials with snom said that these features will be uniquely available for snom UC edition phones later this year.

HP’s 4110 and 4120 Lync-optimized IP phones join snom’s lineup of Lync-qualified IP phones, which includes the 3xx series UC edition phone, the 7xx series UC edition phone and the 8xx series UC edition phone.

Earlier in May, snom technology announced that its 7xx series of desktop IP phones are now fully interoperable with Brekeke (News - Alert) PBX from Brekeke Software, a developer of SIP software products for IP network communications.

snom’s 710, 720 and 760 business phones successfully passed Brekeke’s rigorous validation testing process ensuring full end-to-end integration with Brekeke PBX (News - Alert).

The endpoint can now be auto provisioned through Brekeke’s PBX, using snom’s free cloud-based provisioning tool called snom Active. This enables quick and easy installation and simplified management directly through PBX.
