VoipSwitch, a provider of Internet telephony software and service, has debuted an upgraded version of its mobile application that enables unlimited global voice and video calls and text messaging in addition to boasting striking similarities to a VoIP switch.

Dubbed as Vippie, the new platform provides free calling, messaging, and video calls with superior voice/video quality. The advantage of this solution is that it routes calls over the Internet rather than traditional mobile operators, so it allows for cheaper communications around the world to take place.

The mobile app is offered 100 percent free of charge and allows video calls and texts with attachments, conference calling and call waiting to be sent successfully. Users can also send multimedia contents including photo, video and music using a fast and easy-to-use platform.

Another highlight of the solution is its Social Hub function, which allows users to chat for free with friends from Facebook (News - Alert) and Google Talk. They can also personalize their profiles with a phone and update statuses with the application showing who is currently online or offline or have PUSH notifications setup. Further, phone services can abe used to connect users who are utilizing either Wi-Fi or 3G networks.

Vippie is supported by popular mobile operating systems like iPhone, Android, Symbian, Windows Phone (News - Alert), and Blackberry.
