VoIP Switch - nexMatrix Enhances VoIP Switch Capabilities

A VoIP switch, also known as softswitch, is a main component of any VoIP network infrastructure. In order to extend the features and functionalities of its VoIP switch, nexMatrix has just unveiled enhancements to Protelity, a hosted and multi-tenant PBX (News - Alert) application that combines enterprise-grade telephony features with the company’s nexSwitch softswitches.

By implementing the Protelity platform, users get an opportunity to resell hosted PBM and SIP termination services under their own company name. They also have complete control over price points.

The new platform is beneficial to both retail end users and high volume corporate customers as they can take advantage of wholesale rates on SIP termination and also offer a wide range of PBX functionality to their end users.

“Our new Protelity release provides not only high-end PBX functionality, but also a worry-free and proven means to generate profit for resellers without the investment in expensive billing solutions and softswitches,” said Dianne Ursini, CEO of nexMatrix, in a statement. “For corporate customers, Protelity offers a way to effectively manage their telephony costs across multiple locations, divisions and departments.”

it also allows duplicate extension numbers to be implemented across multiple tenants. Through an enhanced portal, users can also easily make extension moves, adds and other routine changes without involving technical support personnel and whil still utilizing the billing function.

In related news, a couple of weeks ago Tadiran (News - Alert) Telecom, a provider of telecommunications products such as IP PBXs, VoIP switches, IP phones and contact centers, launched a new unified communications and collaboration solution that consolidates disparate business applications into a single communications platform.

On-Net Routing
On-Net Routing is the feature that allows placing calls from one account in the system to another account in the system.

Ability to Charging On-Net (Account-to-Account) Calls
In some cases it might be necessary to charge either caller or callee or both for the on-net call based on per-minute rate.

Automatic Database Backup
The Softswitch includes the system which allows performing automatic backup of the database periodically.

Ability to Get exchange rate using external script
Exchange rates can be set using external custom script.
