ZyXEL Communications (News - Alert), a subsidiary of Unizyx Holding Corporation and a provider of broadband access and networking solutions, has recently unveiled a new series of affordable, energy efficient, Web managed VoIP switches.

The newly introduced series include 24 and 48 port 10G Web smart switches and 24 and 48 port gigabit Web smart switches with high power PoE and without high power. Designed for small to mid-size businesses, these VoIP switches offer high throughput and sophisticated features like network performance and security management.

In a statement, Steven Joe (News - Alert), executive vice president of Channel Business for Americas at ZyXEL said, "ZyXEL's new VoIP switches deliver a cost and performance breakthrough to small-and medium-size businesses, as well as the education and hospitality markets." "We're providing affordable, energy-efficient, IPv6-ready, web-managed switches with the richest L2 features available to meet our customer's current and future mobility and cloud computing demands."

ZyXEL's economical, high-performance XGS1910 and GS1910 VoIP switches successfully meet the increasing demands among SMBs for cloud-based services and applications including video streaming, teleconferencing and surveillance. These robust switches provide the necessary gigabit bandwidth to desktops for provisioning all of these applications.

The XGS1910-24 switch features two enhanced small form-factor SFP+ ports for 10G uplinks and / or stacking. This particular cost-saving feature eliminates the need for additional modules for 10G support.

Moreover, the HP designation for the GS1910-24HP / 48HP represents "High Powered" for 30W power IEEE (News - Alert) 802.3 at feature support. Being backward compatible with 802.3af PoE standard devices, these ZyXEL HP switches can power devices such as motorized IP cameras with pan / tilt / zoom functions that use more than 15.4W.
