Goober Networks Launches No-Cost VoIP Calling Solution

Goober Networks (News - Alert), a Unified Communications provider that delivers hyper-connective technologies designed to unify and simplify consumer and business communication and information sharing, has announced the release of its CallingAmerica web-based solution, offering anyone in America with a broadband connection to place free Voice-over-IP (VoIP) calls to any landline or mobile phone in the United States.

In addition, the platform allows callers to make international calls to select countries, including: Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, and the U.K.

According to Goober, the aim is to provide users with access to calling landlines – both domestically and internationally – something not offered by VoIP competitors, such as Skype (News - Alert).

“The advantages of the CallingAmerica solution are compelling to customers' calling needs and budgets,” said Goober Networks' CEO Peter Uhlich, in a release. “We realize that people want to make free calls to other countries outside of the U.S. and Canada, which makes the international component of the solution key.”

“Another critical part of the offering is the ability to make truly web-based calls to landlines. Such a feature is currently unavailable through other VoIP companies. For example, Skype does not offer an application where calls can be made from Facebook (News - Alert) to landlines via Skype. In fact, Goober has plans to release a Facebook plug-in for this capability soon.”

The free service is entirely supported by advertising sponsors, according to Goober. Before a call is connected, callers view a brief advertisement, after which their call is placed.

Uhlich added, “By leveraging the advertising space on the CallingAmerica platform to promote Goober's wide range of exciting products, we can continue our commitment to meet the growing demand for no-cost voice and video services and develop our own solutions that rival existing services in today's market. We are proud to offer a free service whose capabilities benefit callers throughout the country and beyond.”
