Businesses that leverage VoIP solutions are able to significantly reduce costs and drive productivity among employees who are working outside of the office. With VoIP solutions, employees are able to access a single, unified platform for all of their individual needs.
VoIP solutions find adoption among various government departments as well, and recently GSA (News - Alert) Applications revealed that BandTel (News - Alert), a provider of SIP trunking, had been awarded a GSA Schedule 70 contract that enables the company to provide VoIP solutions to federal government customers.
GSA Applications managed the tender process on behalf of BandTel, facilitating the application preparation, submission and negotiations with government buyers at the GSA. Following this collaborative effort, BandTel was able to place their VoIP telecommunications technology directly on the government's electronic ordering system, GSA Advantage.
The GSA contract expands the company’s reach beyond the federal government to numerous state and municipal governments, allowing these customers to take advantage of BandTel’s fixed government pricing on VoIP solutions and products.
Additionally, BandTel also recently launched its SIPTrex-Platform (SxP) which is a PBX (News - Alert) syste that has been seamlessly integrated with BandTel's VectorX QoS/Security solution, T.38 fax, redundant voice POTS failover, and wireless VoIP phone access.
"This PBX is a full service product, with all the features and functionality of a system costing tens of thousands of dollars, but essentially free," said Peter Sandstrom, CTO at BandTel, in a statement. "The Plug & Play SxP comes fully integrated, preconfigured and tested from BandTel, reducing all of the inherent risks associated with phone switchovers."
BandTel’s SIP Trunking services are offered via three key methods for its clients: by allowing current CPE equipment to leverage SIP Trunking; adopting native SIP CPE support, or participating in BandTel's Generations program. With these options, the company allows its client to use the VoIP solutions that best suit their business requirements and budget.
The benefits of VoIP solutions are many. They range from being able to connect multiple people back to the core office to being able to building fully customized call routing protocols and more.
