Comcast (News - Alert) Business, a unit of Comcast Cable and the nation's largest video, high-speed Internet and phone provider to business and residential customers has been recognised at the top VoIP Service provider for the second consecutive year. Comcast was placed as a topper in the Infonetics Research’s (News - Alert) 2013 North America Business VoIP Service Leadership Scorecard.
Comcast introduced Business VoiceEdge, a cloud-based voice and unified communications (UC) solution in 2012. The solution offers a full set of UC features and high definition (HD) voice quality to help multi-site organizations and mobile workforces communicate more efficiently. The service has expanded throughout 39 states and is fully managed over Comcast’s network. The service is affordable as it do not need expensive on-site PBX (News - Alert) equipment or key systems and delivers high service quality to improve productivity.
Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC and IMS at Infonetics Research, said that “Being recognized as the #1 hosted VoIP and UC provider for businesses by a leading market research firm is a testament to the hard work of our product, sales and support teams to make Business VoiceEdge a preferred solution for organizations across the country. As more businesses turn to the cloud for their technology and communications needs, they are looking at Business VoiceEdge to simplify and modernize their voice systems so they can stay connected anywhere and anytime to focus on their core business, said John Guillaume, vice president, product management at Comcast Business.
Comcast Buisness was in news when a law firm ordered Comcast's business-class Internet service and, along with it, Comcast's customized e-mail service that would make the law office's email address ‘[email protected].’ The new e-mail address was ordered in late March and was to become available in early April. But by the second week of May, the lawyers not only didn't have their own brand-name email service; they had no e-mail service at all, because Comcast couldn't seem to turn it on.
