Mu Dynamics Helps Vendors Peddle VoIP, IPTV

Mu Dynamics announced today that it’s added several new Network Equipment Manufacturer customers – an announcement that company officials say highlights the growing adoption of Mu’s unique service assurance offering.
 
The company said that its customer base also includes half of the top 15 global network operators. Mu’s new customers join the company’s existing 100-plus deployments across dozens of customers. According to a study from Network Strategy Partners, network operators depend on Mu to help eliminate application and network downtime – for example, for VoIP – that can cost in excess of $100,000 per hour.
 
Thanks to Mu, vendors can automate many aspects of their software development lifecycle using the Service Analyzer to discover, document and remediate product weaknesses in Routing, Switching, Load Balancing, UTM, firewall, web filtering, virus screening, spam filtering, intrusion prevention and VPN product suites. These capabilities help them to facilitate customers’ build-out of VoIP, IPTV (News - Alert), and IMS-based services. According to the company, Mu’s solution also forms the basis of the newly published August 2008 InfoWorld Distributed Enterprise Firewall Shootout plan.
 
Chuck Bodeman, director of test engineering for Starent Networks (News - Alert), said that there is significant demand to have Internet on-the-go, and mobile operator networks are central in delivering this capability. The network therefore needs to be reliable, available and secure, company officials say. His company works with solutions, such as those offered by Mu Dynamics, to ensure they are delivering robust products with the key features mobile operators require.
 
Adam Stein (News - Alert), vice president of marketing at Mu Dynamics, said that Mu’s success at extending its leadership position is a direct result of the unique, proactive insight that Mu customers gain into the reliability, availability, and security of services, applications, and solutions. The company helps eliminate application and network downtime through its comprehensive analysis that uncovers both product weaknesses and vulnerabilities, according to the company.
