Service quality assurance solutions outfit Empirix (News - Alert) has appointed a new general manager for the company’s Network Assurance Solutions business unit.
Rob Markovich (News - Alert) will head up the Massachusetts company’s expanding slice of the IP test platform market that is used worldwide by network equipment manufacturers, service providers and enterprises.
According to John D’Anna, president and CEO, Empirix, Markovich has more than 20 years of relevant and successful experience, and “the tools necessary to show organizations how to best take advantage of Empirix’s cost-effective IP communications solutions.
The business unit of this line includes IP Multiservice test solutions, such as Hammer Edge, IP Multimedia test solutions, such as Hammer G5, and IP field test solutions, such as Hammer SIP Trunk Tester.
Since 1992, Empirix’s Hammer testing and monitoring solutions have helped Network Equipment Manufacturers (NEMs), Service Providers and Enterprise Contact Centers successfully transition to new technologies including Unified Communications (News - Alert) IP Contact Centers, VoIP, NGN, and IMS-based networks.
In fact, Empirix recently ramped up its Hammer testing line with the introduction today of the Hammer Edge, an intelligent, high performance realistic behavior emulation tool geared toward optimizing services and products for IP communications networks.
And Markovich will work within that family of products.
“Rob will help advance our company’s growth and innovation as we continue to offer unparalleled IP service quality assurance solutions to organizations around the world,” said D’Anna.
In the past, Markovich has held executive positions in marketing, business development and sales for network test and management companies, ranging from early startups to public corporations, and has advised, consulted and/or served as a board member for several network test and management companies.
Before joining Empirix, Markovich was co-founder and executive at Service Level Management pioneer Visual Networks, helping it grow from zero to $100M in five years and leading it in a highly successful IPO, later acquired by Fluke Networks (News - Alert).
“I look forward to building on Empirix’s many strengths,” said Markovich. “It is exciting to join a team that already leads its industry and has a positive worldwide reputation for providing quality IP network assurance technology, services and solutions.”
