By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor
Empirix today said that ZONE Telecom (News - Alert), a provider of voice, data, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, has installed its Hammer XMS monitoring solution.
Hammer XMS equips ZONE Telecom with “proactive” approach to manage and monitor its VoIP network by gathering statistics and conducting trend analyses that allow for accurate capacity planning for long-term growth, according to Empirix (News - Alert) officials.
A carrier-class monitoring solution, Empirix's Hammer XMS has been designed to ensure the reliability and quality of next-generation services.
Officials said that Hammer XMS offers Network Engineering, Planning, Operations and Customer Care teams the ability to deploy new services and maintain current services with “higher quality and at a lower cost.”
ZONE Telecom officials said that their company selected Empirix's Hammer XMS monitoring solution because it offers features such as alerts; diagnostics; media analysis; scalability.
The alert provides proactive notification mechanism for rapid fault awareness and diagnosis, while diagnostics enables immediate troubleshooting in order to identify where issues lie. Officials said that Empirix's Hammer XMS identifies media details by location of zone, provider and/or customer where the problem originated.
“After speaking with providers and customers in the industry and conducting our own due diligence, it was clear to us that Empirix is a company with a strong foothold in the market and a proven technology,” said Tiffany Franzky, vice president of technology at ZONE Telecom.
He also said that before purchasing a monitoring tool, his company used a combination of open source solutions and systems developed internally, which proved to be cumbersome and difficult to manage as network traffic increased.
“Now, with Hammer XMS, we're able to grow our network and easily identify and fix problems before our customers are affected. Since installing the solution, we have seen the speed at which we can troubleshoot literally increase a full order of magnitude,” added Franzky.
Gordon Eddy (News - Alert), senior director, product management at Empirix said that by implementing Hammer XMS, ZONE Telecom now has the diagnostic capabilities it needs to “truly understand” where a problem initiated and how to fix it before the customer is ever affected.
