Falls Church, VA-based technology solutions provider CSC has teamed up with Cisco to introduce its Unified Communications (News - Alert) as a Service (UCaaS) offering in the Canadian market. The collaboration is aimed at providing their Canadian clients with world-class collaboration services suited to meet changing needs in the workplace.
The latest addition to its unified communications and collaboration (UCC) solutions suite, UCaaS is based on Cisco’s (News - Alert) Hosted Collaboration Solution and developed in close collaboration with Cisco. With UCaaS, CSC continues its commitment to provide world-class telephony and integration solutions to its clients – across industry verticals.
“CSC’s (News - Alert) UCaaS offering delivers to our clients a cost-effective, flexible and responsive suite of UC capabilities. Continued expansion of CSC’s as a service solutions in the Canada market with Cisco’s Unified Communications platform allows our clients to enjoy optimized organizational communication and business process integration – driving competitive advantage,” vice president of global infrastructure services and solutions for CSC Nimesh Shah noted in a statement.
Complemented by CSC’s multi-platform integration, the UCaaS solution introduces a utility-based, per-user pricing model for the companies with tight capital-expenditure budget. The solution allows the companies consume a full range of telephony, voicemail, conferencing and unified messaging technologies at an affordable price. The solution will give the clients communication and collaboration flexibility as their businesses evolve.
According to a press release, CSC is providing this newly launched managed service to clients globally via its unified communications service center. Based on its flexible service delivery model, CSC UCaaS solution is offered in three versions: customer premises-based, CSC-hosted and hybrid deployments. Customers can opt for CSC-provided hardware and software or use their own equipment.
Regardless of delivery model, services are supported at a per-seat, per-month fee. All models follow standard solution design and backed up by 24/7 support globally.
CSC currently uses UCaaS internally at two major CSC customer call centers. The firm has deployed its UCaaS solution as the core voice and collaboration platform for federal government and financial industry clients and has launched paid pilots with clients in the manufacturing, aerospace and defense, and chemical, energy and natural resources (CENR) verticals.
Recently, 9 Networks (Q9) announced it has been selected by CSC to host cloud computing services for Canadian organizations interested in deploying real business applications in the cloud. This makes CSC cloud services accessible from a Q9 data centre over the Web in a secure, rapid and cost-effective manner.
