Sangoma Helps CudaTel Deliver IP-PBX Appliance

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

In a bid to deliver an all-in-one IP-PBX (News - Alert) appliance that supports a range of analog and digital connections, VoIP gateways provider Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert) Corp. today announced a partnership with a next-gen phone system provider.

The Toronto, Canada-based company said it has joined forces with CudaTel, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Barracuda Networks (News - Alert), to deliver the CudaTel Communication Server IP-PBX appliance.

CudaTel, which provides office phone systems that include open source integration with FreeSWITCH and Sangoma, a provider of telephony interface cards, will allow the new appliance to be easy to use as well as cost-effective.

According to Sean Heiney, CudaTel product manager and director of New Product Initiatives for Barracuda Networks, the company found Sangoma to be a perfect fit to provide the voice cards they needed to launch their IP-PBX offering as they were well-known in the industry for their high-quality voice cards.

"Sangoma's compact form factor, completeness of telephony protocol support and FreeSWITCH software compatibility, allows us to deliver a tightly integrated, cost-effective and easy-to-use appliance that closely mirrors the design and affordability of heritage Barracuda Networks' products," Heiney said.

The new all-in-one IP-PBX appliance will specifically offer support for configurations that connect to traditional telephony networks including 4-port analog connections all the way to 120-port digital interfaces.

Just last week, at TMC’s ITEXPO West 2009, Sangoma made headlines with the announcement that it’s NetBorder Express Gateway (News - Alert) product line was now available on Linux OS.

The NetBorder Express Gateway communicates with applications such as IP-PBXs, speech-enabled IVRs, conferencing servers, contact center or trunking gateways directly through the SIP control protocol to reduce deployment time, complexity and cost for next-generation network application deployments.
