Sangoma Announces NetBorder Express Gateway Now Available on Linux at TMC ITEXPO West 2009

By Jai C.S., TMCnet Contributor

At TMC’s ITEXPO West 2009, Sangoma Technologies Corporation, a provider of PC-based hardware and software for proprietary and open source based data and telephony transport solutions, announced the general availability of its NetBorder Express Gateway product line under the Linux operating system.

Previously available only under the Windows operating system, the NetBorder Express Gateway (News - Alert) is said to offer a wide range of densities and configurations, ranging from 2-port analog to 960 ports of digital telephony on a single system, to any SIP-based application.
It is said to be a complete SIP-compliant VoIP Media Gateway solution, delivering cost effective solutions for developers, system integrators, and OEMs in a convenient PCI or PCI Express form-factor.

NetBorder Express Gateway communicates with applications such as IP-PBXs, speech enabled IVRs, conferencing servers, contact center or trunking gateways directly with the SIP control protocol in order to reduce deployment time, complexity and cost for next generation network application deployments.

Reportedly, Sangoma’s partner, pbxnsip, has already designed and launched a set of PBX (News - Alert) appliances based on the NetBorder Express Gateway on the Linux operating system.

"Releasing an affordable, simple-to-use, all-in-one PBX appliance that includes our SIP-based PBX software has been a long-time priority for our organization, because that's what our customers demand. NetBorder Express Gateway, with its compact form factor, wide support of telephony protocols and attractive price points was the obvious choice for our product line," said Kevin Moroz (News - Alert), chief operating officer at pbxnsip.

Sangoma's telephony interface products are used in a wide variety of open source telephony projects such as Asterisk (News - Alert), FreeSwitch, CallWeaver, Yate as well as a high number of proprietary SIP-based applications, covering all ranges of communication systems from enhanced services in carriers to small-business phone systems, automated speech applications and massive outbound call center operations.

"Among all cost-effective PCI telephony interface card vendors, Sangoma certainly has the broadest product coverage in terms of applications and platforms," said Frederic Dickey, director of product management at Sangoma.

"With this release of NetBorder Express on Linux, Sangoma further extends its leadership in providing a choice of interface and operating systems to telephony application developers worldwide," said Dickey.
