Sangoma-Powered Skype PBX Gateway from PrettyMay

By Jessica Kostek, TMCnet Channel Editor

Sangoma Technologies Corporation gateway cards are now powering PrettyMay’s new Skype PBX Gateway solution, with the company’s A200 and B600 series analog cards. PrettyMay, a provider of Windows-based Skype PBX and Gateway (News - Alert) products, today announced Sangoma’s involvement in its flagship product. Sangoma voice cards are gateways that integrate with existing PBX (News - Alert) systems, as well as with external legacy networks.

“Sangoma offers the most scalable and reliable voice cards on the market,” said Fu Lei, marketing director for PrettyMay. “We are very pleased with the performance of Sangoma cards.”

According to the company, the PrettyMay Skype (News - Alert) PBX Gateway can be used as a standalone Skype PBX system, which is ideal for small businesses that need an easy-to-use, inexpensive phone system with both Skype and PSTN network compatibility.

For enterprise users that already have an office phone system and need a solution to integrate Skype services into its PBX, company officials say that the PrettyMay Skype PBX Gateway enables internal extensions to make low-cost international calls through the SkypeOut service.

Earlier this year, Sangoma announced it had partnered with IndustryDynamics, manufacturers of an integrated Skype gateway appliance also powered by Sangoma voice cards.

"We're very happy about Sangoma hardware performance," said Peter Litovsky, sales director for IndustryDynamics.

"Decision makers are hesitant to replace phone equipment. This solution helps them retain their past investment in equipment, and adds great value-giving them Skype from existing phone lines without sacrificing any quality," Litovsky said.

Those who use IndustryDynamics’ integrated Skype gateway appliance can contact their home office from anywhere in the world, where Skype is available. For $2.95 per month, there's nothing comparable in the marketplace. The cost drops even further, to $2.50 per month, for buying a year in advance.

"There's also an unlimited world plan, which is $10 per month, available in over 30 countries," said Litovsky. "That includes Europe, China, Hong Kong, and South America."
