Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) and Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) IP communications companies use several different critical pieces of technology from chip manufacturers to bring their products together. The DSP Group (News - Alert), global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, just announced a new product to its DVF SoCs family with the DVF 101.

The DVF line allows ODMs/OEMs to create VoIP phones that can address the needs of home users, midsized organizations as well as high end enterprise systems. The DVF 101 chipset has a multicore architecture capable of delivering high quality voice experience, enhance graphics, a powerful security protocol and advanced interfaces.

The DSP Group designed this chip to target high performance VoIP communication devices for consumer and enterprise markets by providing high-end voice terminals, high-resolution color display, rich 3D Graphical User Interface (GUI), full-HD voice and Super Wideband Acoustical Echo Cancellation (SWB AEC) along with a fully secured communication.

As part of the DSP Group’s IP communication solutions portfolio, the DVF101 will provide a comprehensive line of VoIP processors that can target a wide range of use cases for OEMs/ODMs. Being part of the same family of chips also means they share the same SDK API and software compatibility, which, according to the company, delivers value to its customers by letting them introduce product to market faster without high capital expenditure.

The DVF chipset family as a whole is a solution created for developing affordable, scalable and green VoIP home and office products. It makes it just as easy to integrate embedded features into devices for the home such as cordless IP and instant messaging (IM) phones, as it does full unified communications capabilities with HD video and audio for enterprises.

The DVF101 includes a high-speed ARM (News - Alert) Cortex-A9 application processor, a second ARM communication co-processor, 3D graphical processor, crypto-engine for security processing, advanced peripheral interfaces and the complete analog front-end complement DVF101 chipset to address the IP telephony market.
