Patton Electronics, US based SmartNode VoIP solutions, BODI rS High Availability Fixed & Mobile Routers, and CopperLink Ethernet Extenders provider, is unveiling the new SmartNode 5300 Enterprise Session Border Router (ESBR) this week at CeBIT (News - Alert) 2014.
SmartNode 5300 ESBR is a CPE based Session Border Controller, delivering the features for advanced multiservice voice and data network applications. It combines SIP routing and manipulation features with powerful quality of service IP routing functions to build reliable VoIP and data networks.
The SN5300 is designed to meet requirements specified by a national incumbent carrier in Western Europe that is implementing its first order.
The SN5300 enables Universal SIP Trunking and provides a single Integrated Access Device with features like IP Routing, VoIP and IP Security and a SIP registrar for survivability. The SN5300 connects to the IP-PBX (News - Alert) or UC system in the Enterprise’s LAN and to an Internet telephony service provider (ITSP), creating a single conduit for multimedia components like voice, video, and data.
Deployed as customer premise equipment (CPE) in telecom carrier and Internet Telephony (News - Alert) Service Provider (ITSP) networks, the SN5300 Session Border Controller (SBC) eliminates common interoperability challenges with enterprise subscribers’ telephony equipment and software.
“SmartNode SBCs go way beyond avoiding the dreaded truck roll,” stated Marc Aeberhard, SmartNode Product Manager. “How about preventing subscriber complaints? High-quality voice, fax that works, fraud protection, voice-and-data survivability… these are only a few of the SmartNode benefits that make business subscribers happy. Carriers like happy customers.”
An optional built-in EFM interface allows carriers to provide high-speed services using their existing copper network facilities without an external EFM modem.
The included stateful firewall prevents intrusions from the public network, so the SN5300 can also serve as a network-access router.
Also, Patton’s (News - Alert) DownStreamQos are implemented in the SN5300 for high-quality voice within the subscriber premise, while the SmartNode SIP registrar feature preserves intra-office calling if the Internet connection fails.
SmartNode, like all Patton products comes with Patton’s Gold-Standard Free Support at no extra cost.
SmartNode has all the ISDN telephony features that ISDN users have been using on and network operators require (AOC, CLIP, CLIR, UD64, overlap dialing, and fax, as well as MSN and DID).
