 Netgear has launched a new mobile broadband voice gateway called MVBR1517 that will allow mobile operators to better meet the needs of its customers.

The MVBR1517 equips users with carrier-class voice services to attached analog or DECT (News - Alert) phones allowing for:

·         Fixed-line replacement service

·         Quick and secure internet access over a WiFi (News - Alert) or Ethernet connection

·         Firewall security for protection against cyber attacks

All of these offerings will be provided over a 4G LTE (News - Alert) modem, which has quickly turned into the industry standard for mobile operators.

Julien Blin, directing analyst for consumer electronics and mobile broadband at Infonetics (News - Alert) Research, said that, "With the adoption of 4G LTE, mobile operators are able to experience network efficiencies with higher speeds, helping them to meet the continuing speed and bandwidth demands from customers and device manufacturers…4G LTE's ability to act as a primary or back-up solution to wired services also offers mobile operators cost benefits when compared to 3G technology. The need for quality mobile broadband gateways with evolved voice capabilities is only increasing."

Michael Clegg, senior vice president and general manager for Service Provider Business at Netgear  noted that, "The MVBR1517 is the culmination of the experience NETGEAR has attained from delivering mobile broadband platforms over the past years. “ He added that, "Simplicity and ease-of-use are at the core of the MVBR1517's user experience and design, yet it's flexible enough to meet the needs and rigorous quality demands of mobile operators."

Netgear will offer a demonstration of the MVBR1517 at the Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) trade show in Barcelona from Monday, February 25 through Thursday, February 28.
