OpenVox Communication Co. Ltd. recently unveiled its FIRST Hot-Swap Asterisk-Based GSM Gateways, a VoxStack series GSM Gateway (News - Alert) for the open source telephony community. A maximum of five plug-in GSM gateway modules capable of supporting a maximum of 20 GSM channels will be offered by VoxStack, incorporated with OpenVox original modular design.
Apart from cost benefits on GSM offerings, this innovative campaign offers additional versatility on hardware upgrade and system backup.
OpenVox has unveiled two GSM Gateway models with VoxStack series GSM Gateway, the VS-GW1200-4G and VS-GW1600. A broad assortment of codecs and signaling protocol, like G.711A, G.711U, G.729, G.722, G.726, iLBC, GSM and SIP, can be interconnected to the GSM cellular networks with the Modular Design GSM Gateways, which range from 4 to 20 GSM channels.
These gateways can leverage on cost-savings by ensuring rapid reduction in telecommunication costs.
The innovative design of VoxStack Gateway is capable of supporting hot-swap for SIM cards and GSM gateway modules. The modules for hardware extension or swapping can be easily added or removed by users.
An autonomous asterisk system runs inside all GSM gateway modules.

Stackability on the hardware upgrade is possible with a Lan Switch board incorporated inside the VoxStack gateway. The sending and receiving of SMS messages is possible with the VoxStack gateway as well. Users can also send and receive SMS to groups and e-mails.
Asterisk (News - Alert), Elastix, trixbox, 3CX and FreeSWITCH sip server are completely well-matched with GSM Gateways.
OpenVox will start shipping of the VoxStack series GSM gateways across the globe on January 15, 2013. The organization is currently offering a pre-order endorsement, wherein companies will be offered an additional 5 percent discount on the associate price.
