Talking Economics with Patton
By Juliana Kenny, TMCnet Managing Editor
Patton (News - Alert) Electronics is not just a provider of VoIP gateway and Ethernet extender solutions across the globe, it also maintains a voice in the economic sphere concerning business growth. In the Export-Import Bank of the United States’ 2012 Annual Conference coming up April 12 in Washington, D.C., Bobby Patton, CEO of Patton Electronics, will be attending as a panelist.
Joined by such speakers as Bill Clinton, Patton will partake in this opportunity for companies around the world to meet U.S. exporters of all sizes.
With a “speed networking” session featured, foreign buyers and American sellers will be able to meet and do business in one-on-one sessions.
Patton’s panel is aimed to create an informative discussion surrounding the potential “transformational” growth and impact that exports can have on U.S. businesses, according to Bobby Patton. It is his hope that listeners will walk away from the panel session with a greater understanding of the “potential transformative impact that exporting can have on a small businesses bottom line.”
Additionally, Patton noted that the discussion will aim to “identify the key leadership and managerial challenges associated with business strategy that seeks to use exports as a source of growth,” as well as to “find out what resources are available to entrepreneurs to overcome the challenges associated with securing large scale export success.”
When I probed Patton about the connection between the company’s VoIP products and its position economically in this sphere, he said, “The benefits of exporting typically need to be earned through transformation of business processes that enable unique selling propositions and competitive advantage. Our invitation to participate in this event recognizes Patton’s unique advantages. Our VoIP products are globally relevant. This has only happened by getting close to our customers. We have gone to our customers and listened to them – many of those interactions face-to-face – and responded.”
The varied and widespread challenges facing leaders of businesses on the multinational front span economic and political boundaries. With industry representatives from Latin America, India, and Africa, the conference should shed some light on the solutions to business challenges moving forward in this delicate economy. As Patton mentioned, no one has all the answers, but it never hurts to explore the solutions.
