Patton Expands its SmartNode Portfolio
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor
Patton designs, develops, and manufactures electronic communications equipment for network access, connectivity, voice-over-IP, triple play and video surveillance. The new addition to the SmartNode family supports up to 2048 voice or fax calls with extensive inter-protocol transcoding.
Patton's SmartNode portfolio is expanded far beyond its former 2-to-120-call range through the addition of a high-capacity solution for 512-to-2048 VoIP or T.30/T.38 fax calls in a 2U form factor.
The SN10200 allows carriers to use the SN10200 for delivering high-density SIP/H.248 and classic TDM/SS7 voice and fax services concurrently when deployed as customer-premise equipment (CPE).
Also, the SN20100 allows carrier to migrate their legacy service networks toward IP-centric architectures when it is deployed as core, edge or peer-interchange equipment.
"The global network is still converging," said Burton A. Patton, executive vice president. "Although legacy equipment is aging, it provides reliable service. Traditional PSTNs still generate revenues and profits. Carriers need classic TDM and advanced IP networks to interconnect and interoperate, and our SmartNode 10200 is the industry's most reliable--and cost-effective--solution."
Patton adds that the SN10200 interconnects traditional and iPBX phone systems for large enterprises and call centers.
This interconnection enables the delivery of high-volume SIP trunking with sustained performance levels up to 90 completed calls per second (CCPS).
Moreover, the SN10200 ensures seamless interoperation with all major softswitches by providing transcoding among all voice codecs and signaling protocols.
