Not all considerations have flown out the window in terms of cost when selecting VoIP services these days, despite the competitive pricing and great value VoIP implementation provides for a business. As VoIP services are increasing in popularity amongst business customers, price is still an important criterion while choosing a VoIP service provider.
A survey by Seattle-based WhichVoIP.com reveals what customers want from VoIP service providers. About 80 percent of the respondents agreed that the price of the service was an important consideration in their decisions to select VoIP instead of a traditional telephony system.
Sixty percent of the respondents like to be offered the value-added features and functionality with VoIP service at no extra charge when considering VoIP in their business phone service purchasing decision.
Factors such as knowledge of sales staff (60 percent) and friendliness of the salesperson (30 percent) also matters.
“This is real data from customers telling us what they would like from providers --- not only in terms of service, but also in terms of the sales process,” Mike Bragg, CFO of WhichVoIP, said. “Business VoIP service providers who seek business customers can benefit greatly from the information our survey revealed.”
WhichVoIP.com advises service providers and their sales team to have other selling points ready while approaching potential customers who are still skeptical about VoIP and its many useful features.
Service providers and their sales team should tell the potential customers that hosted VoIP phone systems involve a substantial cost savings by enabling a company’s workers to make and receive calls via the Internet using a headset and microphone.
They should also discuss how the VoIP system enables calls to be directed to mobile devices, enabling the employees to conduct business while travelling or otherwise away from the office location.
