North American Mobile VoIP Market Will be Driven by Need for Cost Reduction: Research
In a recent research report, “North American Mobile VoIP Market 2010-2014," MarketResearch.com estimates the North American Mobile VoIP market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 57 percent over the period of 2010-2014, driven mainly by the need to reduce the cost of communication. Also, the increasing competition among vendors of Mobile VoIP will result in further price reduction, according to the research. "Unlike other communication mediums, mobile VoIP does not require extensive investment or equipment,” according to an analyst. “Communication takes place via the Internet, eliminating signal transfers through cells, base stations, and substations, thereby eliminating huge bills for mobile phones and reducing companies' overall communication costs.” However, the growth of VoIP in North America is being hindered by the increasing concerns about data security. The improved network and wireless bandwidth capabilities will increase the adoption of VoIP in the future. Moreover, the emergence of video capabilities through Mobile VoIP will increase the popularity of the service. The research analyzes the key trends the VoIP market is subject to. It evaluates and estimates the VoIP market size by 2014. Additionally, the report provides insight into the challenges and opportunities presented in this market. The report also analyzes key vendors by evaluating their strengths and weaknesses, and addressing the threats faced by each of these vendors. Earlier this year, Infonetics (News - Alert) Research said in its research that the worldwide VoIP market reached $49.8 billion in 2010 (compared to $34.8 billion in 2008). According to the report, business VoIP services are growing at faster rates than residential services. SIP trunking had a breakout year with 143 percent revenue growth in 2010.
