Vitelity Communications (News - Alert), a leader in wholesale VoIP and VoIP equipment technology, has invested close to one million dollars in the construction of its data center located in Englewood, Colo.
Thanks to this center, existing and future clients will now have access to a number of hosting servers and VoIP equipment.
The data center is spread over an area of more than 8,000 square feet of space, and company officials said that it’s optimized for maximum VoIP functionality. In addition to being PCI (News - Alert)-compliant, it features 50Gbit IP network capacity; UPS battery backup with failover to diesel generators; and 24/7 monitored security.
“Vitelity is offering a data center space unlike other hosting providers,” said Brian Ford, vice president of operations at Vitelity, adding that the company’s clients have access to numerous hosting platforms and VoIP services unmatched by its competitors.
In comparison to other data centers, Vitelity's facility allows customers to either use their own servers or those provided by the company. Company officials said that servers are customized as per the needs of each customer. In addition, the servers work with Vitelity's networks and all other carriers, which few hosting providers offer.
Company officials said that the servers connect directly to the nation's major telecommunication carriers such as Level (3), XO, Pacwest, Paetec, and Global Crossing. Moreover, the center also supports all major PBX (News - Alert) platforms.
“Since we've only utilized 10 percent of our total capacity, we have endless opportunities for our clients to expand and grow their VoIP business,” Ford said.
The data center allows Vitelity to offer a range of affordable hosting plans from virtual hosting to high-density build-outs to hosting multiple servers. The company expects to double the size of the data center within the next year.
Vitelity is a privately owned, international VoIP equipmpent provider. The company offers wholesale voice, fax and SMS services. It operates its own private dark fiber network.
Last month, the company offered a special preview into its new V3 customer platform to participants at ITEXPO West 2011.
