VoIP Enabler Phybridge UniPhyer Saved LAN, Cabling, Professional Services Costs at Hotel

By Ed Silverstein, TMCnet Contributor

It was another Mitel (News - Alert) win using the Phybridge UniPhyer.

This time at Toronto, Canada’s, Sheraton Gateway Hotel, affiliated with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc.

Many of the Mitel 5340 IP sets were destined for areas of the hotel that were beyond the 300-feet Ethernet limitation. Some of the sets had to go into areas that had no existing CAT5 LAN cabling in place. The Phybridge (News - Alert) UniPhyer saved the LAN, cabling and professional services costs.

"It was a very pleasant experience to work with the Phybridge UniPhyer. The installation was quick and the designated Mitel 5340 IP sets were up and running almost immediately. Having been involved with numerous Unified Communications (News - Alert) installations, I can't think of an easier, faster way of rolling out IP end points," said Eduardo Rafael, manager of Information Technology, Sheraton Gateway (News - Alert) Hotel.

The Phybridge UniPhyer is a low-cost, risk- free, robust, quick and easy VoIP enabler, the company says.

The Phybridge UniPhyer leverages existing telephony cabling to provide a complete IP network for voice and data which allows users to centrally converge with the LAN. The Phybridge UniPhyer instantly provides a dedicated path for voice, QoS and POE to every desktop.

The Phybridge UniPhyer enables IP phones to achieve the reliability and voice clarity of traditional phone systems without sacrificing any of the benefits of IP Phones.

IP PBXs and IP Phones deployed over the Phybridge UniPhyer can offer the robustness of traditional telephony systems and the easy mobility of IP phones.

Here’s how the Phybridge UniPhyer, VoIP enabler, does this:

1. Remove the existing Telco connector from the legacy PBX (News - Alert) and connect to the Phybridge UniPhyer.

2. Connect the Phybridge UniPhyer to the IP PBX or router/LAN.

3. Connect the PhyAdapters to the existing telephone jacks at the desktop and connect the IP Phones to the PoE enabled phone jack on the PhyAdapter.
