While attending the ITEXPO East in Miami from Jan. 20-22, as a TMC (News - Alert) Web Editor, I had the lucky job of sitting down with leading executives from top companies in the telecom industry to discuss various trends in their business, as well as how the show was going for them, and what to expect in the upcoming year.

 

One of the individuals I interviewed was Phybridge’s (News - Alert) Executive Vice President, Steven Fair, who spoke to me about the company’s inception in 2009, and how it faired as a startup in a difficult economic year.

 

“We are a very new company; have been in the market place since last June, as far as being a certified CSA UL approved product, and we’ve really been enjoying the response that we’ve had from the marketplace from our product, because not only are we new to the market, but we’ve also created a new segment of the market as well,” Fair said.

 

And, what segment is that you ask?

 

“Traditionally, what people have done when they’ve moved from TDM, which is digital or analog technology to the IP space, is they’ve had to rewire their infrastructure, create a new LAN infrastructure to operate those phones on,” Fair said. “So, what we’ve done is created the ability to put those IP phones on the existing telephony infrastructure.”

 

So, with Phybridge’s ability to support a company’s existing wiring for an organization migrating to the IP phone space, the startup has created a cost effective, and completely time efficient way to evolve to this advanced process.
