It’s been an eventful year so far for Ontario, Canada-based Phybridge (News - Alert), which has been getting positive attention for its UniPhyer VoIP enabler solution and customer-focused approach to VoIP. Among other events, the company enabled a college in Illinois to converge its voice and data networks, was awarded a U.S. patent (No. 8,125,998) for its network and power over Ethernet (PoE) redundancy solution, and helped Habersham County in Georgia migrate to IP telephony.
Perhaps most indicative of the company’s continued growth, however, is its expansion over the past six months with expanded presence in the U.S. through regional offices in Chicago and Phoenix, and the appointment of two new managers to oversee operations for the Northwest and Southwest.
In November, 2011 Phybridge hired Kevin O’Brien as Regional Manager for the Northeastern U.S. market area. O’Brien has worked extensively as a Phybridge reseller in Chicago, and is a former Siemens (News - Alert) technical salesperson.
At Phybridge, O’Brien’s focus is developing strategic relationships with existing certified value-added resellers (VARs) and driving new partner awareness.
“Kevin’s vast knowledge of the voice, networking and infrastructure space will enable him to deal with customers and resellers alike around how we can simplify their transition from TDM to IP telephony,” Phybridge said in a memo at the time of O’Brien’s hiring.
O’Brien is based in the Chicago area, where he lives with his family.
Even more recently, in March 2012, Phybridge hired David Jindra to oversee its Western U.S. operations. Jindra has more than 20 years of experience driving results in the communications and IT markets. Most recently, he was a U.S. sales manager for Mitel (News - Alert), focused on strategic accounts.
At Phybridge, Jindra will apply his deep knowledge of distribution, channels, and service providers to address the multi-faceted challenges and opportunities associated with bringing a new solution to market.
“Our explosive growth rate in U.S markets is driving expansion to support partner and customer demands, fueling requests for our UniPhyer solution,” Phybridge noted at the time of Jindra’s hiring.
Jindra is based in Phoenix, Arizona, where he lives with his wife.
In the U.S., Phybridge’s market segment focuses include government, healthcare and education.
Phybridge’s flagship product, the UniPhyer, is a VoIP enabler that makes adoption of IP telephony a reality for customers that previously could not afford it. It enables delivery of both PoE and Ethernet over a single twisted pair deployment. UniPhyer is sold through service providers and VARs.
