Aculab, a provider of enabling technology for the communications market, is now a member of the VoiceXML (News - Alert) Forum, an industry organization formed to create and promote VoiceXML. With the backing and contributions of its diverse membership, the VoiceXML Forum has successfully driven market acceptance of VoiceXML through a wide array of speech-enabled applications.
With the growing market adoption of VoiceXML for next generation speech-enabled communications platforms, it is important for Aculab (News - Alert) to continue to remain aligned with such key technologies. Aculab’s recent release of VoiceXML interpreter software will help ensure it keeps up with changing technology and continues to meet customers’ requirements.
“We at Aculab are very pleased to have become a member of the VoiceXML Forum. Being aligned with the forum and other members means that we can benefit from early access to review the specification and other documentation ensuring we can continue to deliver enhancements to our products in a timely fashion,” said Herman Abel, product manager at Aculab, in a statement. “Additionally, we can network with this important community and influence future strategies and direction for the Voice Extensible Mark-up Language.”
Aculab’s VoiceXML interpreter software enables developers of VoIP and PSTN telephony solutions to implement standards-based interfaces to a wide range of applications including interactive voice response (IVR), voice portals, conferencing services, voicemail, unified messaging platforms and prepaid services.
According to Aculab, VoiceXML interpreter software speeds application development by providing an alternative to developing with native product APIs, ensuring faster time to market, while reducing the associated costs. Designed to operate with a range of Aculab's media processing and signaling platforms, the interpreter software allows seamless scalability of solutions from one to thousands of channels, active call redundancy with automatic failover to ensure no active calls are lost and support for integration with 3rd party speech engines (TTS, ASR, SVI).
