Aculab (News - Alert), a U.K.-based provider of enabling technology for the communications market recently made headlines with the announcement that its Prosody X media processing platform was chosen by AVST (News - Alert), a communications solutions provider.
As per the latest collaboration in the companies’ long standing relationship, AVST has released support for the use of Prosody X with their Call Xpress 8 unified communications solution.
With AVST’s Call-Xpress UC platform, companies are provided call processing, voicemail, unified messaging, fax, speech and personal assistant capabilities to help enhance productivity.
I reached out to Michael Denny, vice president of marketing at AVST to find out more.
Denny told TMCnet that the company has benefited greatly from their partnership with Aculab and that this latest move was a perfect fit for the company’s UC platform.
“More and more companies are looking for ready-built, ready-to-deploy solutions that make their go-to-market strategies easier to maintain and develop on. Solutions such as ours with Aculab enable organizations to be more nimble by giving them the time they need to be better aligned to their end users needs. This is truly a turn key system for them.”
Aculab also recently announced the release of the latest version of its host media processing product, Prosody S, with embedded support for Linux OS.
The latest offering - version 3 - provides developers with the same access to codecs and media processing features as with their DSP-based Prosody X boards and includes support for their distributed API architecture, so a single application server can be used to control operations in multiple distributed media servers.
Aculab is a diamond sponsor of the upcoming ITEXPO West event taking place in Los Angeles, Sept. 1 to 3, 2009. Visit Aculab at booth #512 in the exhibit hall. AVST will also be exhibiting at the upcoming event. Be sure to check then out a booth #232.
