Successfully deploying VoIP solutions in the small to medium-sized business (SMB) market can be rather confusing. There are many solutions available, falling into several categories—each of which has its pros and cons.
This is the topic of a session titled “Pros/Cons of Various VoIP Solutions for the SMB Market,” to be held at Internet Telephony Conference & EXPO (in San Diego October 10-13, 2006). Among the presenters on the vendor-neutral panel are 8x8, Inc.’s Dave Immethun; Ian Colville, Product Manager at Aculab; and Sphere’s Senior Vice President, Todd Landry.
The session will be held October 13, 2006, from 12:15 to 1:00 p.m.
Immethun, Colville, Landry, and their co-presenters will look at the pros and cons of premise-based (IP-PBX (News - Alert)), hosted, IP trunking, and media gateway VoIP solutions for SMBs. Some of the topic areas expected to be discussed include:
- Defining different solution categories
- Network requirements and benefits of different solutions
- Deployment difficulties and challenges
- Standard installation scenarios
- Common pre- and post-implementation issues
- Typical business cases
Attendees interested in learning more about VoIP solutions for SMBs are encouraged to visit the IT EXPO booths for 8x8 (News - Alert), Aculab (News - Alert), and Sphere (#513, #506, and #108, respectively). Even more information on the topic is available on these companies’
TMCnet.com channels:
Small Business VoIP (8x8), VoIP Developer (
News - Alert) (Aculab), and IP-PBX (Sphere).
If you’re attending IMS EXPO, also be sure not to miss the keynote by Bryan Martin, Chairman and CEO of 8x8, Inc. The keynote will be held October 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
