Cellingo.com recently launched a WordPress based voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and SMS telephone system using the software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) business model.

With the help of the company’s SaaS website, users can make and receive telephone calls online. In addition, they can also send and receive text messages.

One of the key features of this newest offering from Cellingo.com is the option to send delayed SMS to a group of contacts at a specific time and date.

Company officials said that each user can select a new local telephone number, which is something other VoIP telephone companies do not offer. Once the number is selected, they can start using the new system to make or receive calls or send and receive text messages. Users will also benefit from access to real-time call and SMS logs.

Cellingo enables its users to call current or potential customers, add notes and priority status, and send delayed group text messages. In addition, users can use the service without downloading or configuring any special software or plugins.

Originally created for consultants and telecommuters, small businesses may also find it useful because of its simplicity.

“Cellingo will save me a lot of time because now I can make calls online and give life insurance quotes without leaving my Internet browser,” said Carlos Lugo, a financial advisor for National Life Group, adding that he can schedule all of his weekly meetings with the delayed SMS service.

Cellingo's SaaS platform works on Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems. However, it is optimized for use only on Google (News - Alert) Chrome. Company officials said that it is currently being tested on browsers such as Firefox, Safari, and Opera.
