IntelePeer (News - Alert) CoreCloud SIP trunking has been integrated with hosted Microsoft Lync unified communications deployments offered by Chinook Communications. IntelePeer provides on-demand, cloud-based communications and Chinook Communications is a telecommunications provider that offers Microsoft (News - Alert)-supported Lync Server 2010 Multitenant Pack for Partner Hosting.

This collaboration between the two companies will enable businesses to achieve more effective collaboration and communication, while leveraging IntelePeer's SIP trunking capabilities to deliver seamless, carrier-quality connections.

“The combination of our cloud-based SIP trunking connections with hosted Microsoft Lync helps small businesses use their communications system as a revenue-generating asset, instead of a cost center," said Margaret Norton, general manager, Enterprises for IntelePeer, in a statement.

IntelePeer provides turnkey solutions for hosted Microsoft Lync deployments and the company claims its SIP trunking service is the only secure offering in the U.S. that is qualified for Microsoft Lync. IntelePeer is delivering a connection to any Microsoft Lync deployment as well as to any public switched telephone network (PSTN) communications device through its CloudWorx platform.

“IntelePeer has a proven track record of supporting the full range of Microsoft Lync multimedia and collaboration features, ensuring communications are delivered with the highest level of quality and reliability,” said Steve Schwartz, CEO of Chinook Communications.

Microsoft’s Lync unified communications platform is scheduled for an upgrade in 2013.The upgraded platform will offer unified approach to the virtual PBX (News - Alert) and bring more features and integrations for voice and video service. This virtual PBX may not replace traditional PBX systems where traditional desktop phones are still the main communication devices in place.
