Expereo, a global wholesale provider of last-mile connectivity services, has joined the Telx Ethernet Exchange to expand the reach of its own Ethernet service delivery footprint in the Metro New York City region.

Officials with Telx said that The Telx Ethernet Exchange provides a more efficient and simplified method of interconnecting service provider networks on a one-to-many basis.

Thanks to joining the Telx Ethernet Exchange in Telx's strategically located New York City data center at 111 8th Ave., Expereo will now be able to continue the expansion of its service delivery footprint in the U.S., opening new business opportunities with other wholesale buyers and sellers of Ethernet.

"We are extremely excited about the opportunities presented by joining the Telx Ethernet Exchange community,” said Alphons Mulders, CEO of Expereo USA, in a statement. “It will allow us to offer a greater choice of low latency connectivity services for our customers by tapping into the substantial hub of providers Telx offers at this important location in New York City.”

Mulders said that this implementation is the latest proof point of Expereo's plan to transform its previous virtual network operator business model into a full-service, hybrid network operator.

In addition to Telx's key location at 111 8th Ave. and its industry-leading communications service provider ecosystem, Mulders said that Expereo also values Telx's highly knowledgeable and responsive support team.

“Not only were we impressed with Telx's technology and pricing structure, but their services team wowed us with their commitment to meeting all of our needs, including support with disaster recovery planning, backup services, training and tech support," he said.

"Telx's expertise goes beyond interconnection and colocation services by educating us on the provider landscape, and helps us extend our unique hybrid network operator business model here in the U.S," said Mulders.

Eric Shepcaro (News - Alert), CEO of Telx, said that the company is pleased and proud to add Expereo to its growing Ethernet Exchange community at 111 8th Avenue – the most strategic location in New York City to establish interconnection services.

Shepcaro said that this location continues to be a key Point of Presence destination for global companies in need of a secure, low-latency interconnection facility that establishes fast and cost-effective market entry.

“We look forward to being part of Expereo's ongoing U.S. growth campaign and to meeting their connectivity needs," he added.

Telx is a provider of interconnection and data center services in strategic, high-demand North American markets.
