Mexico-based telecommunications company AXTEL has introduced its voice over Internet service “AXTEL Conmigo” in partnership with fring.
fring (News - Alert) is a mobile application that lets users enjoy rich Internet communication over the mobile Internet on their mobile devices. Thanks to this mobile application, AXTEL Conmigo becomes the first Mexican telecommunication service that enables subscribers to receive fixed telephone line calls to mobile devices.
The AXTEL customers can now receive their home phone calls, and also personal computer correspondence with popular social networks - Skype, Facebook (News - Alert), GoogleTalk, Twitter and others directly on their mobile devices.
With fring, subscribers can also share Internet experiences including live chat, video calls, file transfer and more from mobile devices for free over Wi-Fi or 3G data packages, according to company officials.
Avi Shechter (News - Alert), co-founder and CEO of fring said that the company is complementing AXTEL Conmigo’s new service by extending their fixed-mobile convergence to enable users to also share internet experiences from their mobile devices, including services such as VoIP calls, Skype (News - Alert), Facebook and more, that were previously confined to their home phones and PCs.
