Free Webinar to Explain How Companies Can Avoid 'Convergence Landmines' By Patrick Barnard, Group Managing Editor, TMCnet
Upgrading a corporate network to support VoIP and/or unified communications can be a complex, time-consuming and costly endeavor. What’s more, it can radically increase the strain on internal IT departments, which must constantly monitor and troubleshoot these converged networks in order to maintain voice quality and overall network performance after they are implemented.
A recent research report finds that IT teams are only 52 percent successful in supporting IP voice and unified communications platforms. Some organizations have experienced severe interruptions, including complete network outages, after attempting to load voice traffic on their existing corporate LAN or WAN -- even after taking appropriate steps to prepare their environment for convergence. What’s more, a vast majority of organizations have experienced voice quality issues or slow data transmisssion due to a lack of network capacity or improper implementation. This is unacceptable, as these communications technologies are playing an increasingly important, “mission critical” role in business operations. So what can organizations do to cost-effectively ensure that their converged networks are continuously optimized for performance – without having to bog down their precious (and sometimes “bare bones”) internal IT resources? During the upcoming free webinar, “Managing Convergence: Five Keys to Bullet-Proofing Your Converging Voice and Data Network,” attendees will learn how to “bullet-proof” their converged networks and avoid the most prevalent convergence problems. Amit Kapoor, director of strategic technology advancement, Tone Software Corporation, and Paul Wiggins, convergence technology manager, Tone Software (News - Alert), will explain how companies can avoid “convergence landmines” and reduce convergence operating costs. In addition they will discuss how companies can ensure VoIP call quality and service levels; how they can minimize the complexity of converged communications with a 360 degree view across the data, voice and VoIP domains; how they can more effectively manage their networks, even with a smaller IT staff; and how they can ensure converged voice SLAs are being met.
This free informative webinar, to be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 11, is geared for CIOs, directors and IT managers of enterprise voice network teams responsible for delivering voice services to their organizations, as well as telecommunications managers and voice network support managers responsible for building and supporting converged voice network environments. The event will also be of interest to business development managers for managed services providers that need to cost effectively deliver converged communications solutions and services to their clients.
