ReliaTel Quality of Assurance Tool for VoIP Networks Featured by Voice Management Company
By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor
“Quality assurance” – one of the nicest two-word combinations in English, no? Conveying the promise of hey, don’t worry about it. We’ll take care of it. It’s especially welcome when it applies to VoIP networks. So much promise in terms of features and cost savings, but all for naught if the network suffers from poor voice quality or voice management, resulting in a negative user experience. Then poof, all the benefits of VoIP, IP telephony and Unified Communications go right out the window. Tone Software (News - Alert), a provider of voice management solutions, offers ways to get that quality assurance you want for your VoIP network. The company offers its ReliaTel VoIP Quality of Service (QoS) Assurance tool, vendor agnostic, to manage VoIP QoS in real-time throughout business critical converged voice environments. It works from the pre-deployment stages of VoIP roll-out to the ongoing management of real-time converged voice quality and user experience, according to Tone officials, who say “ReliaTel manages the entire life cycle of convergence today – and the advanced communications of tomorrow.” How does it do so? Glad you asked. ReliaTel determines if the current network can support VoIP traffic with high levels of call quality, and is designed to enable VoIP and voice management support teams to identify and resolve the correct VoIP quality issues before service degrades. This is in contrast to other methods of VoIP network which are geared more to correcting degraded service. Which has already irritated customers. Big help. The ReliaTel product can provide the tools to resolve both IPT quality issues and the underlying network issues, and deliver VoIP quality trending reports and service level metrics. These metrics are what you need to improve ongoing voice quality and network performance as usage grows. Tone officials position ReliaTel Analytics as a way to improve the insight and intelligence you can get with your VoIP network. Regardless of where issues with the network actually arise, ReliaTel provides what Tone officials characterize as “the deep dive metric analysis and integrated remediation tools to monitor, analyze, and resolve quality issues.” David Sims is a contributing editor for TMCnet.
