Tone Software Offers Voice Management, Monitoring for TDM PBXs, Other Telecom
By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor
If you need to monitor and manage TDM PBXs, voice mail servers, you’ll probably want to check out what voice management company Tone Software (News - Alert) is offering with its ReliaTel platform. The company’s ReliaTel’s platform is engineered, company officials say, to monitor “all types and sizes of PBXs, CO switches, and associated voice devices from virtually any vendor or manufacturer.” This aids in unifying the management of these communications assets. In fact, if you’re looking for a graphical view of both granular and aggregated performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators in your VoIP, PBX (News - Alert), IP Voice, and IT network infrastructure, then you’ll probably want to check out Tone Software’s ReliaTel Performance Dashboard. Oftentimes, company officials say, TDM PBXs are relied-upon as the primary voice delivery mechanism while new VoIP technologies are adopted and implemented. A couple weeks ago TMCnet reported that ReliaTel is known for delivering the kind of performance in which management, operations, and network staff have continuous visibility into voice network and infrastructure metrics such as VoIP call quality, traffic, and capacity trends, VoIP network performance and response analysis, and application performance thresholds, response analysis and availability. The ReliaTel PBX monitoring and management will automatically detect and analyze all PBX device faults, alarms, and performance issues in real-time, and initiate alarms in the designated manner, as well as immediately notify appropriate staff of the alarm in a variety of medias, with comprehensive escalation capabilities. The product is designed to enable technicians to remotely access PBXs anywhere in the world – through a single interface – to perform diagnostics, resolve problems, and restore peak services, company officials say, as well as to initiate recovery processes, remote reboots, restarts, or recycle power to restore operations. It’s also a useful tool if you need to resolve and clear routine alarms without human intervention, issue test commands to ensure continual PBX health and operation and perform routine scheduled maintenance and procedures, freeing staff for higher priority projects and activities.
