Voice and video IP communications company Global IP Solutions (News - Alert) (GIPS) announced today that it has won four more contracts for its IP network signaling solutions.

Specifically the company has signed agreements with ZTE (News - Alert) Corporation, a leading provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions based in China; Cenwave Communication Inc., a California-based corporation; an un-named Belgian corporation; and an un-named European provider of Internet services.

Each of the agreements includes “platform fees, professional service fees and royalties.” The company, which makes voice and video signal processing technology for IP networks, did not elaborate on the specific products or services it will provide, nor did it furnish the dollar amount or duration of each contract in its press releases. Some of the announced contracts are likely renewals from repeat customers.

Global IP Solutions, a premiere provider of signaling solutions for voice and video IP communications, made news on TMCnet last week when it announced that CommuniGate Systems has embedded the GIPS’ VoiceEngine in its Pronto! UC client framework.

That means Pronto! can now support HD voice services.

Pronto! is a flash-based, Web 2.0 client that unifies all forms of communications. It provides broadband and mobile network operators with a client framework to deliver Value Added Services (VAS) for Unified Communications (News - Alert). With it, carriers can build modular services -- such as videomail, IPTV or Video on Demand -- and deliver them to subscribers via the SaaS model while at the same time offering full-featured Mobile Unified Communications.

Pronto! offers a modular class of services including power e-mail, VoIP, presence, instant messaging, rich media with HD audio and video with over the air synchronization to the iPhone (News - Alert) 3G and other smart phones supporting AirSync.

 

GIPS’ VoiceEngine is a comprehensive signaling solution goes beyond the codec and is designed to handle all necessary voice processing for IP networks -- including jitter buffer and echo cancellation. GIPS claims it provides superior voice quality even under the most adverse network conditions.
