By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Global IP Solutions (GIPS), a provider of IP multimedia processing solutions, has announced plans to demonstrate the power and growing adoption of mobile IP communications with its customers.

The demonstrations include a real-time Mobile video application from Movial (News - Alert), a provider of unified communications (UC) products, allowing users to conduct high-quality Mobile video calls.

With GIPS VideoEngine, mobile application developers can utilize the “best video processing technology” available on a mobile platform, according to company officials.

While GIPS Media Engines are currently considered to be the widely deployed media processing engine with over 800 million downloads.

“The high quality and ease of use that today’s 3G smart phones offer make real-time IP communications a valuable tool for consumers and businesses to stay connected anywhere, anytime,” said Joyce Kim, chief marketing officer at GIPS.

Kim said that consumers and businesses are striving to save on travel expenses, and one is seeing advancements in IP processing and compression technologies. She added that now is the “ideal time” for increased adoption of applications like mobile video calling.

“We are pleased to be leading this charge with some of the biggest names in the mobile industry to make real-time IP communications a reality,” said Kim.

Additionally, GIPS announced that it signed an agreement with California-based WYDE Voice, a company that specializes in bringing voice to multi-speaker/multi-listener environments. This new agreement includes platform, support fees and royalties.

Last month, Skuku, an international communications company specializing in network-based telephony solutions, signed a new deal with GIPS to power its softclient stack using GIPS' technology.
